· Workshop on Utilisation on flyash was organised at Korba (M.P) National Thermal Power Corporation, BALCO Chattisgarh state electricity Board (CSEB) and Hasthdev Thermal power Corporation (HTPC) participated to findout the technologies suitable for the utilisation of flyash. Development Alternatives proposed technology for producing fly ash bricks through manual process. · National Seminar cum Business meet on use of flyash in building components was held in March 2005 at India Habitat Center, New Delhi. The seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of S&T Shri Kapil Sibbal and attended by over 150 participants representing various private, public and Govt. agencies. Dr. J.M Bhatnagar Sc. F delivered a technical lecture entitled “Use of fly ash in clay bricks manufacturing.” Dr. Vimal Kumar, Director FAUP elaborated the action plan being pursued by the Govt. of India through fly ash utilisation programme. |

· Survey and site visit was undertaken in the vicinity of Thermal Power Station operative under Punjab State Electricity Board at Ropar (Punjab). The activity was undertaken to organise the Training Cum Demonstration Programme at Hoshiarpur during May 11-13, 2005 by Flyash Utilisation Programme in technical collaboration with Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee, on the manufacture of clay flyash bricks. Training Cum Demonstration programme was conducted at the pre identified brick production unit in Village Bhatula Near Village Jatpur, Hoshiarpur (Punjab). Dr. J.M.Bhatnagar delivered the technical lecture on flyash utilisation in brick making. Significant attributes of flyash as available in different regions of the country and its impact on the quality of resulting product were highlighted. The programme was attended by the officials of Punjab Pollution Control Board, ~45 representatives of local brick manufacturer’s association, large number of brick moulders, press and media personnel and officials from Flyash Utilisation Programme, New Delhi. |
